Camilo Rubio, DNP, CRNA, is the Chief CRNA at the VA hospital in Pittsburgh. Born and raised in Colombia, Camilo's story of becoming a CRNA and his commitment to healthcare and mission work is impressive. Camilo has worked as a flight nurse and has completed mission trips in Nicaragua, Colombia and Guatemala providing anesthesia in those underserved countries.
This was a really inspiring read about Camilo Rubio’s journey from Colombia to becoming a Chief CRNA and his commitment to both clinical excellence and global mission work. I found it particularly meaningful how his career combines leadership in healthcare with hands-on service in underserved communities, showing the real impact of combining professional expertise with compassion and outreach. It highlights how healthcare is not just about individual roles but about shared responsibility and collaboration across teams and countries. This strongly reflects the importance of 4.1 Analyse the importance of working in partnership with others, as his work clearly demonstrates how effective outcomes in healthcare depend on strong partnerships, teamwork, and global cooperation to improve patient care and access to services.
